Sugar beet Ronald

German Breeding for Consistent Yields

The sugar beet variety "Ronald" from the German company Strube is a choice for farmers focused on predictable results in intensive farming conditions. Developed by experts at Strube, this hybrid has built a reputation as a reliable tool for operations in regions where the phytosanitary background poses a significant challenge to productivity.

Phytosanitary Resistance as a Priority

A key feature of "Ronald" is its genetic protection against two of the most dangerous threats to sugar beet cultivation: rhizomania and cercospora. As infectious pressure on fields increases, this hybrid demonstrates an excellent ability to keep the root crop healthy throughout the entire growing season. This not only eases the agronomist's task of crop protection but also ensures better sugar retention during storage.

Morphology and Productivity

The hybrid produces medium-sized roots, which is the "sweet spot" for modern mechanized harvesting. The stable shape of the root minimizes losses during harvesting by beet combines, while the uniformity of the crop ensures the plant density required for high sugar yields per hectare. "Ronald" responds well to agronomic management, showing stable potential even in years characterized by significant climate stress.

Market Positioning

Strube has a long-standing commitment to innovation, and "Ronald" is a prime example of how German breeding helps optimize operational costs. By choosing this hybrid, producers achieve a balance between crop security and the efficient use of production resources. This solution is aimed at professional farms seeking to minimize risks without sacrificing the final harvest.
