Sugar beet RAMSEM 1

Genetic Architecture and Field Potential

The sugar beet variety 'RAMSEM 1', developed by the breeding team of Ooo Npssp Ramonskie Semena (originators S.I. Skachkov, V.A. Kovalevskaya, A.V. Kornienko), represents the result of years of work focused on adapting the crop to intensive farming conditions. The variety combines high productivity with resistance to key pathogens, which is critical for achieving a stable sugar yield per hectare.

Biological Parameters and Technical Solutions

• Sugar Content Potential: The variety demonstrates balanced sucrose accumulation throughout the growing season, minimizing potential losses during late harvests.
• Cercospora Resistance: The foliage of 'RAMSEM 1' possesses enhanced tolerance to leaf diseases, allowing for a reduction in fungicide applications without compromising the plant's photosynthetic surface.
• Root System: The shape of the root crop is optimized for modern sugar beet harvesters. Uniform soil immersion and high tissue strength minimize mechanical damage during lifting, which directly impacts storage life and raw material quality during transport to processing plants.

The engineering approach taken by Ooo Npssp Ramonskie Semena is focused on unlocking yield potential in challenging agricultural zones. Thanks to its refined morphotype, the variety efficiently utilizes available moisture during critical development phases, ensuring uniform root formation. For agronomists, this translates into predictable performance and the ability to precisely plan technical operations from sowing through to harvest.
