Sunflower Orienter

Stability and Oil Content: The Potential of the «Orientir» Hybrid

In the segment of mid-early sunflowers of Ukrainian selection, the «Orientir» hybrid by Akpadon-Agro occupies a niche as a reliable solution for farmers focused on predictable results. This variety has undergone field trials across various climatic zones of Ukraine, proving its high plasticity and adaptability to different growing conditions.

Agronomic Profile

«Orientir» belongs to the class of simple hybrids. Its biological traits allow for the efficient use of moisture during critical growth stages, which is particularly vital for regions with inconsistent precipitation. Key plant parameters:

• Vegetation period: 100–110 days, making the hybrid convenient for crop rotation and timely harvesting.
• Plant height: 150–160 cm, ensuring crop compactness while maintaining sufficient photosynthetic surface area.
• Head (Capitulum): Semi-convex, medium size, which promotes uniform ripening of the achenes.

The most important commercial indicator is seed oil content, which consistently remains in the 50–55% range. For processing plants, this translates to high oil yield, making this hybrid a sought-after commodity in the market.

Market Positioning

The Akpadon-Agro product line is focused on domestic producers who seek a balance between seed material cost and genetic potential. The «Orientir» hybrid does not require specific, complex technological conditions and shows great response to standard fertilizer systems. Choosing this model is justified for farms looking to reduce risks associated with prolonged maturation or crop lodging. Due to its optimal height and head structure, the hybrid is highly suitable for mechanized harvesting, minimizing combine losses.
