NOMAD SMART sugar beet is a high-yielding hybrid developed in accordance with modern agronomic requirements. This single-stemmed diploid hybrid, based on a sterile N-type, belongs to the medium-maturing varieties with high sugar content. The plant has medium height, semi-erect leaves of medium width and length, green leaf blade color of medium intensity, and no anthocyanin pigmentation. The root crop has a cylindrical-conical shape of medium length, which ensures ease of harvesting and processing.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, including rhizomania, root rot, cercosporosis, ramulariosis, as well as nematodes and powdery mildew. During field trials, no cases of root rot, cercosporosis, or damage from root-eating pests were recorded, confirming the reliability of the variety under various climatic conditions. NOMAD SMART also demonstrates good adaptation to drought-prone conditions, expanding its cultivation potential.
Based on trial results in various regions of Russia, the hybrid shows high yield and sugar content. In the Central region, the average root yield reaches 694.2 c/ha with sugar content of 20.8%, ensuring a sugar harvest of 143.7 c/ha. In the West Siberian region, the yield is 415.0 c/ha with sugar content of 19.2% and a sugar harvest of 86.8 c/ha. The CONVISO® SMART technology, used when cultivating this hybrid, helps effectively control weeds and increases productivity.
