Iceberg is a mid-season sugar beet hybrid characterized by a growing season of about 150 days. The plant is single-stemmed, diploid, created on a sterile basis of type N. The root crop has a broadly conical shape with shallow soil burial, which facilitates harvesting. The average root crop mass is about 724.5 grams, and the yield reaches 85 tons per hectare, indicating the high productivity of the variety.
The hybrid is distinguished by high sugar content — up to 19.5%, and sugar output is approximately 16.6 tons per hectare. Thanks to a healthy leaf apparatus and high juice purity, Iceberg ensures excellent technological indicators during processing. Additionally, the root crops have good storability, which allows maintaining product quality during storage.
The variety is distinguished by high resistance to root rot and drought, as well as medium resistance to cercosporosis, ramularia, and powdery mildew. It withstands osmotic stress and other adverse environmental factors well, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. These qualities combined ensure a stable and high yield of sugar beet.
