Sugar beet Olzhich

Stability and Field Efficiency

The «Olzhych» sugar beet variety is a product of comprehensive breeding efforts by the National Research Center «Institute of Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine» and the Institute of Sugar Beets. Unlike imported hybrids that often demand idealized growing conditions, «Olzhych» was specifically developed to thrive within the unique climatic realities of Ukraine, making it a predictable tool for modern agronomy.

Agronomic Profile

Categorized as a high-yield type (E), this variety focuses on delivering maximum commercial mass per hectare. Its key botanical and production features include:

• Root shape: Ranging from cylindrical-conical to oval-conical, which ensures proper soil penetration and facilitates efficient mechanical harvesting.
• High adaptability: Exceptional performance across various soil types common to the forest-steppe regions.
• Stress resistance: A critical asset during seasons with uneven moisture distribution.

Why choose Olzhych?

The primary advantage of «Olzhych» lies in its blend of technical feasibility and productivity. For agricultural enterprises seeking a balance between intensive chemical input costs and final harvest yield, this variety represents a rational investment. It utilizes the soil’s natural potential efficiently, performing well without requiring «greenhouse» conditions. It is an optimal choice for farms focused on stable gross harvest figures, where both sugar content and total physical root mass are vital indicators.

As with all type E varieties, success with «Olzhych» requires strict adherence to harvest timing to ensure maximum storage quality. This variety remains a preferred choice for professionals who value domestic breeding excellence backed by years of field trials and scientific research.
