Description N 22 X D 01
Sugar beet of the N 22 X D 01 variety is a high-yielding and technologically valuable variety widely used in agronomic practice. It is characterized by high uniformity of growth - about 95%, which allows for effective use of intensive cultivation technologies. Sugar content in the roots varies from 16.7% to 19%, and yield reaches from 32 to 48.6 tons per hectare. The variety differs in good adaptation to various growing conditions and resistance to diseases such as root rot and powdery mildew, ensuring production stability in various regions.

Sugar beet is a thermophilous and heat-resistant crop, the optimal temperature for its growth and development is 20-22°C, however photosynthesis proceeds successfully even at temperatures above 40°C. The plant is very demanding for moisture, especially during intensive growth of roots in July-August. Thanks to a well-developed root system capable of absorbing water to a depth of about 2.5 meters, the beet has good drought resistance. Seeds germinate in a wide temperature range from +4 to +17°C, while the time of seedling emergence directly depends on the temperature. In the autumn period, the crop is able to withstand frosts up to -5°C without damage to sugar accumulation.

Growing sugar beet is associated with certain difficulties, in particular with competition from wild sugar beet, which maintains viability in the soil for up to 15-20 years and can significantly suppress cultivated plants. The appearance of flowering plants reduces root growth and sugar content. To combat this problem, modern technologies are applied, which allow for effective cleaning of fields from wild sugar beet and ensuring high-quality yield.
