Sugar beet Lavina

Stability and Protection: The Potential of the Lavinia Hybrid

The “Lavinia” sugar beet hybrid from the German breeding giant KWS is a balanced solution for farmers who prioritize yield predictability under challenging disease pressure. As a diploid hybrid of the normal type (N), Lavinia demonstrates the reliability classic to KWS breeding, combining high productivity with robust genetic immunity.

Phytosanitary Shield

The key advantage of this hybrid lies in its resistance to critical diseases. For farms where rhizomania has become a systemic issue, Lavinia offers an effective barrier, minimizing the risk of crop loss during the root development stage. Furthermore, the hybrid shows commendable tolerance to cercospora, allowing for optimized fungicide application schedules and reduced pesticide load in the field.

Efficiency and Yield

The conical root shape of Lavinia is a standard for mechanized harvesting: the root is easily extracted from the soil, minimizing losses during mechanical harvesting and reducing soil tare. The large root size, combined with high sugar content, makes this hybrid an optimal choice for farms striving for maximum sugar yield per hectare under standard agronomic costs.

Who is Lavinia for?

• Farms with high soil infestation of rhizomania.
• Producers focused on stable yield performance without excessive fungicide expenditures.
• Enterprises utilizing modern high-capacity machinery for sugar beet harvesting.

KWS German breeding guarantees uniform emergence and high germination energy, ensuring the plant stand density required to reach target yields even under difficult weather conditions.
