Fodder beet Lavinya Rz Cr F1

Resilient performance in high-infection environments

Choosing a sugar beet hybrid today is primarily about risk management. Lavinia Rz Сr F1 from the German breeder KWS was developed specifically for farms that face aggressive pathogens annually. In regions where rhizomania and cercospora have become critical factors limiting profitability, this diploid hybrid demonstrates remarkable resistance.

Agronomic features and planting density

Lavinia belongs to the N (normal) type, making it a versatile solution for various soil and climatic zones. The medium-sized, broad-conical root shape ensures ease of mechanized harvesting: the beets separate cleanly from the soil, minimizing losses during combine operation.

• Recommended density: 90,000 to 110,000 plants per hectare, depending on the agricultural background and moisture availability.
• Phytosanitary control: High tolerance to rhizomania (Rz) and cercospora (Cr) allows for a reduction in the number of fungicide applications, significantly lowering production costs.

Practical implementation of this hybrid is justified in fields with a high risk of infection build-up. Unlike less resistant varieties, Lavinia maintains productivity even in years with intense leaf disease pressure, guaranteeing a stable sugar yield per hectare. To achieve target yield indicators, it is recommended to follow an intensive cultivation technology, ensuring high-quality seedbed preparation and timely weed control during the early growth stages.
