Sunflower Vasilik

Why Vasylyk is a Strategic Choice for Difficult Fields

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, Vasylyk is a sunflower hybrid specifically designed for farmers dealing with heavy weed infestations and broomrape (Orobanche) pressure. By incorporating Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) technology, this hybrid provides a clear tactical advantage in field management.

Practical Field Application

• Advanced Weed Control: The primary advantage of Vasylyk is its tolerance to imidazoline herbicides. This allows farmers to apply treatment at the 2–4 true leaf stage, clearing fields of thistles, ragweed, and parasitic plants like broomrape in a single pass without damaging the crop.
• Operational Efficiency: By utilizing this system, producers significantly reduce the need for mechanical inter-row cultivation. This not only cuts down on fuel and labor costs but also helps preserve essential soil moisture during dry seasons.
• Performance in Challenging Environments: Designed for regions where soil-borne pathogens are a persistent issue, Vasylyk delivers stability where conventional varieties often fail. It simplifies the protection program, focusing on effective herbicide application rather than complex, multi-stage defensive measures.

Vasylyk is a reliable choice for commercial farms that prioritize high yields and clean fields. It is not just a hybrid; it is a tool for simplified yet robust crop protection. For those managing fields with high infection backgrounds, it offers a predictable outcome with lower labor intensity.
