Sugar beet ICB 0904

Stable Yield Performance in Challenging Environments

The sugar beet hybrid "ICB 0904," developed by the Institute of Sugar Beet of the UAAS, is engineered for agricultural enterprises that prioritize operational reliability in fields with high pathogen pressure. As a triploid hybrid of the normal-sugar (NZ) type, it offers a pragmatic balance between achieving high root weight and maintaining a stable sugar content of 17-18%.

Field-Proven Disease Resistance

The core value of "ICB 0904" in a commercial rotation lies in its robust genetic defense, which allows agronomists to reduce the intensity of fungicide programs without compromising yield security:

• Rhizomania Tolerance: Essential for maintaining crop productivity in infested soils.
• Foliar Health: High resistance to Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew ensures the canopy remains active late into the season, driving root development.
• Root Integrity: Resistance to Aphanomyces root rot supports consistent plant stand establishment and crop uniformity.

With its large root size and dependable sugar accumulation, "ICB 0904" is a practical choice for producers looking to maximize total sugar yield per hectare. Its inherent resilience provides a buffer against environmental stress, allowing for a more predictable and efficient harvesting process, making it a reliable workhorse for intensive sugar beet production.
