Sugar beet Aljona KWS

German Breeding Excellence

The «Alona KWS» sugar beet hybrid represents the core of KWS’s specialized breeding program. Classified as a Normal-Sugar (NZ) type, this hybrid is designed to bridge the gap between high yield potential and reliable sugar content. Developed in Germany, the hybrid has earned its reputation in European markets by providing a consistent performance profile that minimizes risks for large-scale producers.

Comprehensive Disease Resilience

In modern intensive agriculture, the ability of a crop to withstand disease pressure is as critical as its yield potential. «Alona KWS» is engineered to resist a wide spectrum of field challenges, reducing the reliance on aggressive fungicide applications. Its genetic profile provides robust protection against:

• Rhizomania: Providing essential security for fields with high disease history.
• Cercospora Leaf Spot: Ensuring the canopy remains healthy and productive through the late summer.
• Soil-borne pathogens: Including Fusarium and Common Scab, which often compromise root health and sugar quality.

Market Positioning

The primary appeal of «Alona KWS» lies in its physiological consistency. It is recognized for producing uniform, easily harvestable roots that translate to lower mechanical losses during the lifting process. By integrating high yield potential with a superior resistance package, KWS offers a solution that appeals to both high-input commercial farms and those looking for stable results in varied environmental conditions. As a result, this hybrid remains a staple for producers who prioritize cost-efficiency alongside stable supply chain performance.
