Sugar beet Livorno

Livorno sugar beet variety is a single-stemmed diploid seed with high yield and significant sugar content. This variety is resistant to rhizomania and tolerant to powdery mildew and downy mildew, ensuring stable and high-quality harvests. The seeds are treated with Poncho Beta (Bayer) for enhanced protection against diseases and pests, and are packed in 1 kg boxes. Seed quality is confirmed by high germination rates (>90%), uniformity (>94%), purity (>99%), single-stemmedness (>95%), and moisture content (<10%). Livorno is a diploid type N/NZ, characterized as a high-yielding and normally sweet variety. It is recommended for late harvests to fully utilize the plant's potential. The variety demonstrates strong growth energy, good yield potential, and tolerance to root rot pathogens and nematodes, contributing to good storage performance in crates and preservation of roots during storage. The seed producer is SESVanderhave, the world’s largest seed company and hybrid sugar beet supplier. Founded in 2005 through the merger of Belgian and Dutch companies, SESVanderhave is part of the Florimond Desprez group. Thanks to decades of experience and innovative technologies, SESVanderhave ensures high seed quality and adaptation to diverse climatic conditions, as evidenced by the registration of the Livorno variety in the Netherlands and Ukraine.
