Sugar beet AGAME SMART

French Breeding for High Sugar Content

The «Agama Smart» sugar beet hybrid by Florimond-Desprez Veuve et Fils is the choice for growers aiming for a balance between advanced technology and high productivity. In an environment where yields are critically dependent on the phytosanitary state of the fields, this hybrid offers a compelling argument in the fight against pathogens.

Resilience as the Foundation of the Yield

The key feature of this hybrid is its genetic resistance to Cercospora leaf spot. In regions with high infection pressure, the risk of losing leaf canopy drastically reduces sugar accumulation. «Agama Smart» maintains its photosynthetic potential even under stress, which allows not only for savings on fungicide treatments but also guarantees a high sugar output per hectare.

Economic Performance

• Sugar Content: consistent levels in the 18–19% range, making this hybrid a premium solution for processors.
• Smart Technology: belonging to the Smart beet system provides flexibility in weed control, minimizing phytotoxicity to the crop itself.
• Genetic Potential: the originators (SESVanderhave in partnership with Florimond-Desprez) have engineered this hybrid to withstand the harsh growing conditions typical of the European climate.

This hybrid is optimal for operations working on highly productive soils where realizing the sugar potential with minimal disease risk is paramount. «Agama Smart» is forgiving of minor scheduling errors in the protection program, maintaining root quality until harvest. It is a solid solution for those who prioritize raw material quality and seek a predictable field performance.
