PAPAY

Papay is a mid-season spinach variety characterized by a period from full germination to technical maturity of 40-50 days. The leaf rosette of this variety is compact, leaves are green color, medium-pustulate, glossy with a slightly wavy edge. This variety is distinguished by high resistance to flowering, which allows extending the harvesting period and improving its quality.

Spinach Papay requires sufficient moisture and fertile soil for optimal growth. It is cold-hardy, so sowing is recommended in the open ground at the earliest dates — at the end of April or beginning of May at a depth of 1.5-2 cm. Harvesting is conducted selectively and multiple times before the onset of flowering. Under conditions of high summer temperatures, the plant is prone to bolting, so reseeding is better to carry out in early August.

This spinach variety is valued for its high content of proteins, vitamins, mineral salts and organic acids, which makes it a useful dietary product. It is recommended to use Papay both in fresh form and for freezing. The yield of the variety is 2-3 kg per square meter, which makes it attractive for cultivation both in personal households and for commercial purposes.
