Spinach Odysseus

Reliability for Seasonal Production

The Odysseus spinach hybrid by Syngenta is the professional grower’s choice for securing premium-quality yields with minimized loss risks. In intensive field production, this hybrid is prized primarily for its predictable performance and robust phytosanitary profile.

Phytopathological Control

The main challenge in spinach cultivation is downy mildew (Peronospora), capable of destroying crops within days under high humidity. Odysseus features genetic resistance to a broad range of pathogen races. For a farming operation, this translates directly into savings on fungicide applications and the elimination of crop loss right before harvest.

Field Performance Advantages

• Visual Appeal: The leaves feature a deep, vibrant green color, essential for meeting retail and fresh market standards. The high-quality appearance remains intact even after extended transport times.
• Mechanization Readiness: The plants are highly uniform, which significantly simplifies mechanized harvesting operations. This reduces labor costs and allows for precise management of harvesting schedules.
• Adaptability: Odysseus is well-suited for varied planting windows, enabling growers to maintain a steady supply of greens throughout a long growing season.

By choosing this Syngenta hybrid, agronomists acquire a reliable tool for consistent production. This is more than just seed; it is a proven technology designed to mitigate weather and pathogen-related risks, ultimately protecting farm profitability.
