Spinach Helios

Consistent spinach yields with Japanese breeding from Sakata

When selecting seeds for professional vegetable production, harvest speed and marketability are the primary drivers of profitability. The "Helios" hybrid by Sakata is designed for growers who prioritize predictable outcomes in both greenhouse and open-field environments.

Agronomic performance and practical application

Spinach "Helios" is engineered for high-intensity farming. Leveraging the genetic expertise of Sakata, this hybrid performs consistently across varying light levels—a critical requirement for continuous, year-round production cycles.

• Environmental resilience: The hybrid shows excellent tolerance to temperature fluctuations, which significantly reduces the risk of premature bolting during heat spikes. This allows for flexible planning for early spring and late autumn production windows.
• Market quality: The vibrant green foliage maintains its appearance even through extended supply chains, meeting the high standards of retail distributors. The leaf structure is ideal for mechanical harvesting, effectively reducing labor costs.
• Operational efficiency: Perfectly suited for both the fresh market and the baby-leaf segment. Its exceptional uniformity ensures a consistent crop that is ready for packaging immediately post-harvest.

Incorporating "Helios" into your crop rotation streamlines production. Its vigorous early-stage growth ensures rapid row closure, which naturally suppresses weed development and minimizes the need for manual weeding. For the modern producer, this translates to lower per-unit costs while maintaining a premium product grade.
