Description Helios
HELIOS is New Zealand spinach (Tetragonia tetragonoides), a fast-growing green crop with creeping, highly branched stems and green, pointed, diamond-shaped fleshy leaves. The plant boasts high nutritional value: it is rich in vitamin C, carotene, calcium, phosphorus, and easily digestible iron, making it beneficial for rejuvenation and body cleansing. Spinach is recommended for consumption both fresh and frozen, expanding its culinary and dietary applications.

The HELIOS variety is suitable for spring and autumn sowing, prefers moderate temperatures in the range of 15-18°C, and requires abundant watering as it is a moisture-loving plant. With insufficient moisture, spinach quickly forms flower stalks, which reduces crop quality. Furthermore, the crop is resistant to bolting, allowing leaves to remain harvestable for a longer period.

HELIOS features high cold hardiness and can withstand temperatures down to -7 to -8°C, making it resilient to adverse weather conditions. In terms of protein content, this spinach rivals meat, underscoring its value as a source of plant protein. This Ukrainian variety, adapted to local climatic conditions, is excellent for cultivation in various regions of the country.
