Spinach Trombone

Professional Spinach Production: The Trombone Hybrid by Pop Vriend Seeds

In the competitive world of leafy greens production, the choice of seed genetics is the primary factor determining yield quality and operational risk management. Trombone, a specialized hybrid from the Dutch breeder Pop Vriend Seeds-NL, has established itself as a reliable solution for commercial growers focused on consistency and disease mitigation.

Disease Resistance and Agronomic Performance

The hallmark of the Trombone hybrid is its robust genetic resistance to Peronospora effusa (downy mildew). By integrating this level of pathogen defense, Pop Vriend Seeds has provided growers with a cultivar that significantly minimizes the need for heavy fungicide applications, which is essential for sustainable and profitable crop management.

• Visual Excellence: The variety produces leaves with a deep, dark green color, meeting the highest aesthetic standards required by modern retail and food service markets.
• Field Uniformity: Designed for professional-grade agriculture, the plant exhibits uniform development, which is critical for efficient harvesting and consistent post-harvest processing.
• Versatility: Trombone is highly suitable for both the fresh market and industrial processing, demonstrating excellent durability and shelf-life.

The Dutch breeding expertise behind Pop Vriend Seeds-NL is evident in the structural integrity of the Trombone plant. Whether it is grown for high-volume supply or premium fresh-cut lines, the hybrid offers a predictable growth cycle and high resistance to stress factors. Trombone represents a strategic investment for farmers aiming to secure a high-quality, market-ready output while maintaining a lower risk profile against soil and airborne pathogens.
