Spinach GOANNA

Professional Spinach Standards by Rijk Zwaan

The «Goanna» spinach hybrid, developed by the Dutch breeding powerhouse Rijk Zwaan, has established itself as a reliable choice for commercial vegetable growers who prioritize consistency and crop health. Designed to excel under demanding production conditions, this hybrid represents the pinnacle of modern breeding efforts for leafy greens.

Agronomic Strengths and Disease Resistance

The primary concern for spinach growers is downy mildew (peronospora), which can devastate harvests. The Goanna hybrid offers robust genetic resistance to this disease, significantly reducing the necessity for intensive fungicide applications. Beyond its protective qualities, the variety is celebrated for its deep, dark green leaf color, which remains vibrant throughout the growing cycle and after harvest, ensuring top-tier marketability in retail channels.

Market Performance and Versatility

Goanna demonstrates excellent adaptability to varying environmental conditions, making it a stable choice for professional operations. Its leaf texture is ideal for both fresh market bundles and the processing industry. The predictable growth pattern of this hybrid allows farmers to plan harvest schedules with precision, meeting the logistical demands of modern supply chains.
