Spinach Crosstrek

Consistent Yields Even in Challenging Conditions

The Crosstrek spinach hybrid from the breeders at Enza Limited is the professional's choice for those tired of battling the crop's primary adversary: downy mildew. Developed in the Netherlands, this variety is engineered for growers who prioritize shelf appeal and predictable results.

Why does Crosstrek stand out?

• High Resistance: Genetic defense against downy mildew (peronospora) allows for a reduction in fungicide applications, which is critical for leafy greens.
• Color Profile: The deep, dark-green leaf color makes the product highly attractive on supermarket shelves. Consumers consistently associate this intense hue with freshness and high chlorophyll content.
• Adaptability: The hybrid performs reliably across various growing conditions, providing uniform germination and rosette consistency, which greatly facilitates mechanical harvesting.

Who is this hybrid for?

Crosstrek is an ideal solution for farms oriented toward the fresh market and processing. Due to its structural integrity, the leaves sustain less damage during transport and maintain turgor pressure for longer periods. If your business model demands consistent quality that survives the logistics chain without losing marketability, this hybrid will become the workhorse of your production cycle.

It is important to note that this variety’s intense pigmentation requires precise nutrient management—specifically nitrogen balance—to fully unlock its genetic potential. While it requires diligent cultivation, the payoff in high-grade yields and market-ready produce makes it a top-tier investment for commercial growers.
