Spinach Lizard

Lizard Spinach: Reliable Performance for Professional Growers

The Lizard spinach hybrid, developed by the Dutch seed specialist Rijk Zwaan, is a staple choice for large-scale operations and commercial growers who prioritize crop safety and visual marketability. When integrated into a rotation, Lizard provides the necessary security against one of the most common spinach pathogens, ensuring that production targets are met with minimal risk.

Disease Resilience as a Strategic Asset

The primary driver for selecting Lizard is its robust resistance to downy mildew (peronospora). In commercial settings, where humidity and irrigation management can inadvertently create favorable environments for fungal outbreaks, Lizard serves as a reliable guard for the bottom line. By reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications, growers can lower production costs while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach to farming.
