SAMER 3

Soybean variety SAMER 3 is a determinate plant of medium height with an upright form and reddish-brown pubescence. Leaves are of medium size, lanceolate-ovate shape with moderate blistering and green color. Flowers are purple, and pods have a medium intensity of brown coloration. Seeds are small, yellow in color with a dark brown hilum. The mass of 1000 seeds varies within the range of 128-154 grams, and the height of attachment of the lower pod is about 10 cm. The variety belongs to very early and early in terms of ripening, which allows it to be used in regions with a short growing period. Variety SAMER 3 was created at the basis of the Yershov Experimental Station for Irrigated Agriculture and Samara NIISKh named after N.M. Tulaykov, and also registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements for the Middle-Volga region. It is distinguished by high resistance to pod cracking and seed shattering, which ensures the possibility of leaving the crop on the root for 20-25 days without losses. Biological features of the variety include early ripening (maturity group 02) with a range of ripening dates in late August – September. The variety is competitive with other popular soybean varieties in terms of agronomic indicators and is distinguished by the ease of cultivation. In terms of quality characteristics, seeds of the SAMER 3 variety contain on average 30.1% protein and 23.9% fat, which ensures a high level of nutritional value and commercial attractiveness. Seed yield in the region is about 11.3 centners per hectare, and protein and oil collection reaches 3.8 and 3.0 centners per hectare, respectively. These indicators are at the level of standards, which makes the variety in demand for the production of food and feed. Due to the combination of earliness, resistance, and high seed quality, SAMER 3 is a promising choice for agricultural production in the Middle-Volga region.
