Pedro soybean variety is an indeterminate plant with a height of 70 to 80 cm and the lower pod attachment height of about 10.1 cm. The plant has an upright or semi-upright form with reddish-brown hairs, and the lateral leaflets are round-oval, large, and dark green. Soybean flowers are purple, and pods have a brown color ranging from light to medium intensity. Seeds are medium-sized, elongated and flattened, yellow-green with a black hilum, with a 1000-seed weight of 142 to 153 grams. The Pedro variety is early-maturing and adapted to various soil-climate conditions, confirmed by its inclusion in the State Register for the North Caucasus region. It exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 8 points, which contributes to yield retention. Yield potential reaches 2.5 tons per hectare, with an average regional yield of 16.9 centners per hectare and a maximum of 22.2 centners per hectare. Seed protein content is high — around 36-36.8%, and fat content reaches 22.7%, making this variety valuable for oil and feed production. The Pedro soybean was registered in 2015 and is produced by Saaten-Union. Due to its characteristics, this variety is suitable for cultivation under various conditions and ensures a stable and high-quality yield. The high protein and oil content in the seeds makes it attractive for farmers aiming to produce both food and industrial raw materials.
