Soybean Galí

Operating Practice for Growing Gali Soybeans

When selecting a soybean variety for intensive crop rotation, field operators prioritize maturity uniformity and ease of harvesting. The Gali soybean, developed by the Institute of Oilseed Crops of the NAAS, demonstrates predictable field performance, simplifying combine harvester adjustments. The plant exhibits adaptive height: depending on soil moisture and fertility levels, the main stem reaches 40–50 cm, while under favorable conditions, it can grow up to 90–100 cm. This range allows for the efficient use of headers without critical losses of the lower bean tier.

Operational Features and Harvesting

• Harvest Losses: Due to optimal bean attachment, this variety shows resistance to pod shattering, minimizing losses during mechanical harvesting.
• Efficiency: The plant height allows for operation with standard header settings, eliminating the need for specialized equipment for low-growing crops.
• Oil Content: The oil content of 17–18% makes this variety a stable raw material for processing facilities, ensuring predictable yields during cleaning and drying.

For an agronomist managing the production cycle, Gali is a reliable tool that forgives minor seeding errors and does not require complex fertilizer protocols. The variety thrives in Ukrainian soil conditions, maintaining yield potential even with moderate crop protection expenditure. The plant's ability to recover from short-term stress significantly reduces risks for the operator in unpredictable weather conditions.
