Soybean is an important agricultural crop, widely used for producing oil, feed, and other products. It belongs to the grain crops and holds great significance in agronomy. Soybean varieties such as Ebbi, Kansas, Sedna, OTTAWA, RUBY, CROWN, OAC ASTORIUM, OAC ELIZIUM (elite) and OAC Atrium (elite), produced by Canada Seeds, are characterized by high yields and are adapted to various climatic conditions, making them suitable for planting in different regions.
The late-maturing soybean variety, approximately one meter tall, forms green pods with black seeds, which have a fine texture and pleasant taste. These characteristics make this variety attractive both for farmers and end consumers.
For successful cultivation of soybeans in arid conditions, such as the left bank of the Saratov region, irrigation is crucial. The cultivation technology includes soil preparation, planting, regular irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest processing. Critical growth stages requiring special attention to soil moisture are flowering, pod formation, and seed filling, which last about 1.5–2 months. During this period, soil moisture at a depth of 0.5–0.7 meters should be maintained at a level not less than 60–65%, depending on soil type. Optimal water consumption, considering the efficiency of the irrigation system, ranges from 296,000 to 518,000 cubic meters per growing season. The final irrigation is recommended based on weather forecasts to ensure maximum yield and seed quality.
