Sorghum Silver

Reliable grain sorghum for challenging conditions

«Sriblyaste» is a grain sorghum variety developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS of Ukraine, specifically engineered to withstand moisture deficiency. It serves as an optimal solution for agricultural enterprises looking to replace corn in arid regions or diversify crop rotation while maintaining profitability.

Why agronomists choose this variety

• Climatic adaptability: The variety shows remarkable resistance to lodging and shattering, which is critical during mechanized harvesting. The grain remains intact in the panicle even if the harvest is delayed.
• High technological efficiency: The plant height is perfectly optimized for standard combine harvesters, minimizing mechanical losses during threshing.
• Crop protection: Excellent tolerance to major sorghum diseases allows for a reduction in fungicide applications, facilitating more cost-effective intensive farming schemes.

Practical application in farming

The «Sriblyaste» variety is primarily used as a safety crop within crop rotations. Thanks to its inherent ability to withstand soil and air drought, it delivers consistent yields even on low-humus soils and in high-risk farming zones. Its main utility lies in the forage sector; the high starch and protein content makes the grain an excellent component for livestock and poultry feed mixtures. With proper combine settings, the variety is easily harvested by direct combining, requiring no specific equipment modifications, making it an accessible choice for small and medium-sized farms with limited machinery assets.
