The primary engineering challenge solved by the originator is the creation of a balanced plant morphology while maintaining high energy values in the seed.

Morphological Traits and Adaptation

With a stalk height of 110–120 cm, Tigrus is classified as a short-stature hybrid, which significantly streamlines harvest logistics. Compactness lowers the plant's center of gravity, which is critical for preventing lodging under high nitrogen fertilization regimes. The moderate height optimizes the leaf area index, ensuring high photosynthetic activity in the lower canopy without self-shading.

Biochemical Profile of the Grain

The internal structure of the Tigrus kernel is characterized by consistent nutritional markers:

• Protein Content: 10–11%. This is an optimal range for balanced rations, providing high digestibility without the need for excessive protein supplementation.
• Starch Concentration: 60–70%. High starch accumulation in the endosperm grants the grain an energy density comparable to premium corn hybrids, while maintaining the characteristic drought tolerance of sorghum.
