Sorghum U55045

Genetic Architecture of Advanta U55045 Grain Sorghum

The U55045 grain sorghum from the Indian breeding company Advanta is a high-yielding hybrid tailored for intensive farming. A key feature of this hybrid is its optimized photosynthesis physiology, which allows the crop to maintain high yield performance even under conditions of moisture stress and high temperature exposure.

Agrotechnical Advantages and Physiology

• Panicle Type: The semi-open structure of the inflorescence ensures excellent air circulation, minimizing the risk of fungal diseases during the ripening phase. This is a critical technical solution for preventing crop losses during unfavorable weather conditions at harvest time.
• Biomass and Stalk: The genetics of U55045 are focused on creating a sturdy, lodging-resistant stalk. This enables the hybrid to support a large, heavy panicle with a high thousand-grain weight, directly impacting the final yield per hectare.
• Nutrient Uptake: Due to the specific architecture of its root system, this sorghum efficiently extracts micro- and macronutrients from deep soil layers, ensuring stable grain filling during the plant's critical growth phases.

Practical application of the Advanta U55045 hybrid demonstrates its reliability under both irrigated and dryland farming conditions. In this case, Advanta's Indian breeding program is focused on maximizing ROI through stable high yields and grain quality that meets export standards.
