Description OUR
Sorghum variety Yankee is an early-maturing hybrid developed by «Altas Seeds» and adapted for cultivation in various climatic conditions. This variety is characterized by high yield and resistance to lodging, drought, and cold during early growth stages. Thanks to its drought resistance and early maturity, sorghum Yankee is successfully used in animal husbandry as feed for birds and fish, as well as for the production of alcohol and biofuels. Late spring sowing and minimal requirements for agronomy make this variety easy to grow even in complex weather conditions. The variety belongs to the medium-early maturity group, plant height reaches about 102 cm, and the mass of a thousand grains is approximately 29.5 grams. It is resistant to lodging and such diseases as smut, which ensures yield stability. The grain contains about 10.6% protein and 78.7% starch, making it valuable both for food and feed use. Average yield in the steppe zone is about 5.7 tons per hectare, with a guaranteed yield increase of more than 2 tons. Growing sorghum requires proper soil preparation, weed eradication, and timely fertilizer application, which contributes to the maximum productivity of the crop. The powerful root system of the variety ensures resistance to dry periods and environmental stress factors. Thanks to these qualities, sorghum Yankee is a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and high-quality grain yield for various purposes.
