FRIGGO is an early-maturing grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) variety intended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region and similar climate zones. The plants reach a height of 110-130 cm, featuring a semi-enclosed panicle about 32 cm long on a tall stalk. Early panicle emergence contributes to high drought resistance and ensures a full harvest even under challenging climatic conditions. The variety is characterized by rapid initial growth, which helps suppress weed growth during early development stages.
FRIGGO grains are elliptical in shape with a rounded back, straw-yellow in color with a purple tip. The endosperm is starchy in three-quarters of the grain, with the 1000-grain weight varying from 22.7 to 26.4 grams. In recommended regions, the yield averages 10 c/ha, reaching up to 17 c/ha at maximum. The variety exhibits high lodging resistance, medium drought tolerance, and medium susceptibility to bacterial infection.
The FRIGGO technology is also utilized to produce healthy and clean strawberry seedlings, ensuring 100% survival and synchronized growth start. Seedlings are stored under optimal conditions, preserving their viability and fruiting potential. Seedling classes differ by root neck size and yield, allowing for harvest scheduling and enhanced plant stress resistance.
