Sorghum ASP 21

Plasticity in the field: ASP 21 Sorghum

The ASP 21 sorghum hybrid, developed by the All-Russian Research Institute of Sorghum and Soy, is a robust solution designed to address the challenges of modern crop production. It is a staple choice for farmers who prioritize yield stability and versatile usage options in varied agro-climatic conditions.

Key Technical Specifications

ASP 21 is prized for its dual-purpose nature, performing reliably whether harvested for grain or utilized for high-quality silage. With a growing season of 120–130 days, it fits well into standard crop rotation schedules. The plant architecture is highly adaptive, with height ranging from 70–90 cm to 180–200 cm, allowing producers to manage stand density effectively.

• Versatility: Ideally suited for both grain market requirements and livestock feed production.
• Grain Characteristics: The hybrid features both white and red grain variants, meeting different processing and storage needs.
• Growth Potential: The 120–130 day maturity window ensures a consistent harvest before the onset of autumn cold spells.

Market Positioning and Reputation

ASP 21 has earned its reputation by delivering consistent outcomes in fields where traditional grains often struggle due to moisture stress. Its market value lies in its predictability. By integrating this hybrid, agricultural producers gain a tool that mitigates risks associated with weather variability. It is an ideal balance for farms looking for a cost-effective, high-output crop that simplifies logistics—offering options to pivot between silage and grain production based on seasonal economic demand.
