The grain sorghum hybrid "Belogorskoe" is a medium-maturity hybrid created in the Volgograd region. It is characterized by medium plant height, weak anthocyanin coloration of the coleoptile, and an oval round grain that turns orange-red at maturity. The grain endosperm is fully starchy and white, making the variety particularly suitable for processing into grains and other food purposes. The mass of 1000 seeds is about 20.4 grams, indicating high quality of the seed material.
The variety is distinguished by high yield and resistance to lodging. In competitive variety trials, the yield of "Belogorskoe" exceeded standard varieties by 24%, reaching maximum figures up to 36.5 c/ha. Plants demonstrate accelerated development in the initial growth stages, which contributes to rapid harvest formation. Wide-row sowing with row spacing of 45 cm and a sowing rate of 300-350 thousand viable seeds per hectare is recommended, which ensures optimal plant density at the time of harvest.
The hybrid has high resistance to various diseases, including mold, helminthosporiosis, fusarium, and others, as well as to stress growing conditions. Plant height ranges from 110 to 125 cm, which facilitates agricultural operations. Seeds undergo treatment with the Maxim XL preparation, which enhances their protection and germination. The potential yield of the variety reaches 11-14 tons per hectare, making "Belogorskoe" an attractive choice for grain production in regions with suitable climatic conditions.
