Description
CHISHMINSKY 84 is an early-maturing sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Sorghum x drummondii) characterized by high drought tolerance and lodging resistance. Plants reach heights of 121 to 164 cm, featuring an erect or slightly spreading bush with a thin stem and medium branching. Leaves are wide-linear, 45-60 cm long and 4.0-4.5 cm wide, which promotes good photosynthesis and plant development. The panicle is spreading, drooping, 25-35 cm long, with rhombic spikelets and curved awns, while spikelet chaff is black and sparsely hairy. Seeds are oval-round, colored in light and dark brown tones. The variety is characterized by high yield: average dry matter yield is about 35 c/ha, exceeding the standard by 2.6 c/ha. Green mass yield reaches 453 c/ha, and seeds yield is 27 c/ha. Dry matter contains 7 to 10% crude protein and up to 8% sugars, making this hybrid valuable for feed use. The maturity period is about 83 days, allowing its use in regions with a short growing season. CHISHMINSKY 84 is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, especially in arid regions, due to its resilience to adverse factors. An erect bush and high lodging resistance ensure harvesting convenience and minimize crop losses. This hybrid is suitable for producing high-quality feeds, ensuring a stable and high yield of green mass and dry matter.
