Sugarcane corn of the 'Belami' variety is an early-maturing simple hybrid from the French breeding company Caussade Semences with a vegetation period of 94-95 days. This variety is suitable for cultivation both for grain and silage, making it a versatile choice for agricultural purposes. Plants reach a height of about 255-260 cm, with an ear attachment height of approximately 100 cm and about 13 leaves on the main stem. The kernels are cream-colored, yellow-orange, giving the product an attractive appearance and high nutritional value. The 1000-kernel mass varies from 288 to 301 grams, indicating the size and density of the kernels. Grain yield reaches 99.7-115 c/ha, and normalized dry matter yield is approximately 101.9 c/ha. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging and drought, rated at 5 points, as well as high resistance to smut (7 points) and early lodging (8 points). Protein content in the grain is 9.7%, starch — 69.7%, fat — 4.2%, ensuring high energy value of the corn as feed. For successful cultivation of the 'Belami' variety, a sowing rate of 75–85 thousand seeds per hectare is recommended. The required effective temperature sum for flowering is 835°С, for silage with 30% dry matter — 1370°С, and for grain with 35% moisture — 1600°С. These parameters allow the hybrid to exhibit high water productivity and ensure early maturity, which is especially important for regions with limited vegetation periods, such as the Kostanay Region and East Kazakhstan Region.
