The 'Altai Anniversary' currant is a late-ripening golden currant variety developed at the M.A. Lisavenko Institute of Siberian Horticulture. The bushes are medium-sized, reaching a height of 1.5–2 meters, with semi-spreading or spreading crowns. Canes are thin to medium, straight, brown in color, and hairy. Leaves are medium-sized, green, leathery, with three or five lobes featuring deep indentations and sharp tips. Fruit clusters are medium and long, measuring 4–6 cm, densely packed with berries, ranging from 6 to 10 per cluster.
The berries of 'Altai Anniversary' are round in shape, black in color with a glossy shine, and have a thick skin. Berry weight varies from 1.3 to 2.4 grams. The taste is sour-sweet with a refreshing aroma, confirmed by a tasting score of 4.5 out of 5. Berries contain approximately 10.1% sugar, 1.8% acid, and 25 mg% of vitamin C. The average yield ranges from 3.7 to 4 kg per bush, with a maximum reaching 5 kg, equivalent to approximately 161 centners per hectare. Berry ripening occurs late, usually in early September or early August, depending on conditions.
The variety is characterized by high winter hardiness, heat tolerance, and drought resistance, as well as resistance to fungal diseases and pests. Pollinators are required for successful fruiting. Due to its characteristics, 'Altai Anniversary' is suitable for universal use, including fresh consumption and processing.
