Golden Currant «Sibirskoye Solnyshko»: Advanced Genetics for High Yields

The «Sibirskoye Solnyshko» golden currant variety, marketed by the FANCA brand, represents a significant development in berry cultivation. Originally derived from the breeding programs of Av Du Capitaine N Tchorere in France, this variety is specifically engineered to thrive in diverse and challenging climates. A key competitive advantage of this cultivar is its strong genetic resistance to powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the need for synthetic fungicide treatments, making it an excellent choice for sustainable agriculture.

Technical Specifications and Performance

Characterized by a medium-spreading bush structure, «Sibirskoye Solnyshko» is designed for ease of harvesting and optimal airflow. The plants typically reach full, productive maturity within three years of planting. The following metrics define its market position:

• Yield potential: 5–7 kg per bush.
• Berry size: Ranging from 1.3 cm to 2.5 cm, offering a substantial harvest for both commercial and personal use.
• Resilience: High resistance to powdery mildew ensures consistent yields even during humid seasons.

The golden currant classification grants this variety superior heat tolerance compared to traditional black or red currants. This adaptability makes it a reliable asset for growers operating in regions with significant temperature fluctuations. The impressive size and quality of the berries ensure they are highly suitable for both fresh market retail and high-end processing, such as artisanal jams or premium juices.
