Currant Valentina

A Reliable Choice for Commercial Horticulture

Blackcurrant «Valentina» from the manufacturer FANCA is a selection designed for growers who prioritize production efficiency and disease resistance. This variety has established itself as a reliable tool for commercial orchards where predictable yields are essential.

Agronomic Advantages

A key factor for agronomists choosing this variety is its high resistance to powdery mildew. In intensive farming, this allows for reduced fungicide applications, effectively lowering production costs. The berry has optimal characteristics for mechanical harvesting and long-distance transport:

• Berry size: 0.8–1.2 cm.
• Firm black skin.
• Balanced biochemical profile: Vitamin C content reaches 250 mg/100g, sugar content is 11%, and acidity level is 2.8%.

This profile makes the berries highly sought after for both the fresh market and deep processing, such as freezing or jam production.

Practical Farm Application

By planting «Valentina», farmers aim for uniform harvest cycles. The variety demonstrates excellent adaptability to various soil and climatic conditions, facilitating easier business scaling. Due to its stable acidity and sugar levels, this produce is always in demand within the processing sector, where raw material standardization is critical. Investing in this planting material is justified by the reduced risk of crop loss from pathogens and ease of maintenance.
