MALACHITE is an early sorrel variety ready for harvest just 45–50 days after germination. The plant has an upright rosette of leaves reaching 12–15 cm in length, colored in a bright green. The leaf edges are slightly wavy, with a smooth surface or light blisters, giving the greens a distinctive look.
This perennial variety is distinguished by high yield: it remains productive in one place for 3–4 years (in some cases up to 7 years) after which replanting is recommended. Sorrel MALACHITE is resistant to adverse weather conditions and hardy, so it can be grown in various climatic zones.
Sorrel leaves are rich in vitamins, especially vitamin C, as well as trace elements, making them a valuable source of nutrients in early spring. Due to rapid growth and easy processing, the plant is widely used in home cooking: it is added to soups, sauces, pies, and other dishes, giving them a refreshing tart taste.
