Bird Cherry ROSY CHEEKS

Genetic Potential and Hardiness

The 'Rumyanye Shchechki' variety was developed by researchers at the Central Siberian Botanical Garden of the SB RAS as a specialized form of bird cherry, adapted to extreme Siberian conditions. The core engineering element of this plant's biological system is its extreme winter hardiness. The ability to withstand temperatures as low as -35°C is maintained by deep bud dormancy and high sugar concentration in the sap, preventing cell tissue rupture during freezing.

Morphology and Functional Purpose

This variety belongs to the category of high-growing woody plants exceeding 4 meters in height. The robust architecture of the crown allows the plant to serve as a focal point in landscape design. Technically, this tree was designed for landscaping purposes: it forms a dense, full crown, which acts as an effective living filter for city streets and park areas.

• Fruit Structure: Despite its primary decorative role, the variety produces small, black fruits.
• Flavor Profile: A pronounced sweetness harmoniously balances with the astringency characteristic of bird cherry species rich in tannins and anthocyanins.

The practical value of 'Rumyanye Shchechki' lies in its combination of aesthetic appeal during the blooming period and high resilience in sharply continental climates. It is a reliable choice for gardeners seeking a low-maintenance, hardy plant that requires no special winter protection.
