Rootstock ORLOVSKIY VP 3

A Reliable Foundation for Cherry Orchards

The «Orlovsky VP 3» rootstock is the result of extensive breeding work by researchers at the VNIISPK (All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Breeding). Developed in Russia, this vigorous rootstock was created to meet the demand for planting material that combines high adaptability to harsh climatic conditions with significant resistance to major stone fruit pathogens.

Agronomic Advantages

• Cold Hardiness: With root frost resistance down to -35°C, this variety is an ideal choice for regions with risky agriculture and unpredictable winter temperatures.
• Disease Resistance: Genetic resistance to coccomycosis and moniliosis significantly reduces the need for chemical fungicide applications, promoting the production of eco-friendly harvests.
• Vigor: Classified as a vigorous rootstock, it provides a robust root system that ensures stable nutrition and longevity for grafted cherry varieties.

The reputation of this rootstock among professionals is built on consistent and predictable results. Unlike less researched clonal rootstocks, «Orlovsky VP 3» demonstrates excellent compatibility with modern cherry varieties, ensuring a high grafting success rate. It serves as a proven solution for establishing intensive and commercial orchards where the reliability of planting material and the ability to withstand extreme temperature fluctuations without compromising productivity are key factors for success.
