Raspberry RED RAIN

The raspberry variety "Red Rain" is the result of selection at the All-Russian Scientific and Technical Institute of Horticulture and Nursery (VSTISP). This variety is a seedling from the free pollination of the variety "Bulgarian Ruby" and differs in a medium ripening period. The bushes are low and spreading, shoots require mandatory support for proper formation and ease of harvesting. The variety is suitable for growing in sunny areas with fertile, slightly acidic, or neutral soil.

"Red Rain" berries have a medium size, mass varies from 2.5 to 3.0 grams, berry shape is blunt conical or round. The color of the fruits is rich raspberry, pulp is soft. The taste of the berries is sour-sweet with a slight aroma, which provides a satisfactory tasting evaluation at a level of 4.3 points. Thanks to its taste qualities and appearance, the raspberry is suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing.

The variety is characterized by high yield, which in industrial plantings reaches 70-80 centners per hectare. It has medium resistance to diseases such as purple blotch, as well as to pests, in particular spider mite. Moreover, the variety is quite winter-hardy, which allows growing it in various climatic conditions. All these characteristics make "Red Rain" an attractive choice for gardeners and farmers seeking a stable and quality raspberry crop.
