The 'Yasna' strawberry variety was developed at the Institute of Horticulture of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences by crossing the 'Noble Laxton' and 'Kulver' varieties. The berries of this variety are large, reaching up to 50 grams in the first harvest, with an average weight of 11–13 grams. The fruit shape is elongated-conical or truncated-conical with a weakly pronounced neck, colored light red. The flesh has medium density, light red, and a sour-sweet taste. The variety is characterized by high yield and resistance to gray mold, as well as a medium ripening period lasting from June to September. 'Yasna' strawberry is low-maintenance and prefers sunny areas. It is self-pollinating, drought-resistant, and withstands frosts down to -10°C. The height of mature plants reaches about 30 cm, while seedlings are 10–15 cm tall. It is recommended to plant with a spacing of about 30 cm and planting depth of 5–7 cm in any type of soil. Top watering with controlled moisture level is preferable to avoid fruit spoilage. The variety has high resistance to diseases, including powdery mildew and gray mold, as well as pests such as aphids and strawberry beetle. In addition to excellent taste qualities, 'Yasna' strawberry has beneficial properties. Fresh berries aid digestion, reduce inflammatory processes in the stomach and intestines, and are recommended for gastritis, colitis, and dysentery. Berries are beneficial in treating anemia and positively affect the thyroid gland, regulating metabolism and lowering blood sugar levels. Decoctions of berries and leaves have diuretic effects, which is beneficial for urinary tract and kidney diseases, including kidney stones, as well as effective for gout treatment.
