Raspberry CARMELKA is a remontant variety with high yield indicators and quality berry characteristics. Medium-sized bushes reach up to 1.5–2 meters in height, have an upright form and do not require tying. Young green shoots acquire a purple hue by the end of the season. Thorniness is moderate; thorns are located along the entire length of the shoots, but they are not too hard and do not create significant inconveniences during harvest.
CARMELKA berries are large, light red in color with a glossy sheen, and have a wide-conical shape. The weight of the fruits varies from 3.8 to 12 grams, with an average weight of about 6–8 grams. The pulp is tender, dense, and juicy, with a pronounced raspberry aroma and a sweet taste rated at 4.6 points. Sugar content in the berries reaches 4.2%, acids are about 1%, and vitamin C is 48 mg per 100 grams. The dense structure of the pulp allows the berries to maintain their appearance during transport.
The variety is characterized by high frost resistance, tolerating temperatures down to -34°C, as well as resistance to fungal diseases and standard pests. The yield from one bush reaches up to 5 kg, which corresponds to approximately 112 centners per hectare. Fruiting occurs twice a year: from two-year-old shoots in July and from one-year-old shoots in September-October. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to choose sunny areas with well-drained soil.
