The raspberry variety Fruatfri, also known as Tula Magic, is a medium-early summer variety developed by breeder Reto Nuwiler in Switzerland. The berries of this variety are large, bright red, conical in shape, and characterized by high density. The average weight of one berry is about 6 grams, with individual berries reaching up to 10 grams. The fruits have a classic sweet taste, are highly transportable, and have an extended storage life, with minimal or no darkening after harvest. Berries detach easily from the bush, facilitating both manual and mechanical harvesting. The Fruatfri plant is vigorous, with one-year-old shoots reaching up to 2 meters in height and having solitary thorns. The variety forms a large number of fruiting buds, ensuring high yield — up to 3 to 4 kilograms of berries can be harvested from one bush. The ripening period begins in the second half of June and lasts about four weeks, depending on regional climatic conditions. In moderate climates or with the use of plastic greenhouses, a second harvest can be obtained in the fall on one-year-old shoots, significantly increasing the overall productivity of the variety. Fruatfri stands out not only for its high productivity but also for its ease of cultivation and harvesting. Dense and transportable berries retain their quality during transport and storage, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation. Due to its resistance and ability for repeat fruiting, raspberry Fruatfri is suitable for both open ground and greenhouse cultivation, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
