Practical insights on growing Driscolls «DrisRaspSeventeen»

Working with genetics from Driscolls always sets a certain expectation for quality, and «DrisRaspSeventeen» does not disappoint. This variety represents the perfect balance between high-intensity output and manageable field operations. It is a reliable choice for any commercial grower who values consistency over unpredictable results.

Predictable performance and standard maintenance

This is not a finicky variety that requires constant troubleshooting; it thrives on standard agricultural protocols. When provided with a balanced fertigation schedule, the plant consistently delivers berries weighing 5–7 grams. The uniform conical shape and vibrant red color are exactly what the market demands, making the sorting process much faster for the picking crew.

Why it works for large-scale production

• Picking Efficiency: The berries release from the receptacle easily, significantly reducing harvesting time during peak season.
• Shelf Life: The fruit is impressively firm. It handles transport remarkably well, maintaining its structure and "market-ready" appearance even after delivery.
• Resilience: The plant shows good tolerance to common pressures, fitting well into standard pest and disease management programs without requiring excessive interventions.

Management perspective

As a remontant variety, it offers great flexibility for seasonal planning. The plant structure is robust, simplifying the maintenance of the patch between cycles. For anyone looking to invest in a variety that combines US breeding standards with straightforward labor requirements, Driscolls «DrisRaspSeventeen» is a solid foundation for a profitable berry enterprise.
