Rapeseed LID CALIENTO

Agronomic Management of LID CALIENTO

The intensive winter oilseed rape hybrid LID CALIENTO from Lidea France SAS requires precise adherence to agronomic timelines to fully realize its high yield potential. Its mid-early maturity group allows for efficient harvest planning, while its inherent resistance to pod shattering minimizes field losses.

Sowing Strategy and Soil Requirements

This hybrid performs best in fertile, well-aerated soils with a neutral to slightly acidic pH. Given its intensive root system development, ensuring optimal soil structure is critical for nutrient uptake and oxygen access from the early stages of vegetation.

• Sowing Dates: Planting should occur within the optimal window for your specific region. The goal is to achieve a robust rosette stage (8–10 leaves) before winter dormancy to ensure successful overwintering.
• Planting Density: Aim for a final stand of 45–50 plants per square meter at harvest. Avoid excessive density, as it can lead to lodging and a decrease in oil content.

Crop Care and Protection

LID CALIENTO features complex tolerance to major diseases, including phoma and cylindrosporium, which allows for a more targeted fungicide strategy. However, consistent field monitoring remains essential:

• Autumn: Focus on controlling pests like flea beetles and applying growth regulators to prevent the apical bud from overgrowing.
• Spring: Early nitrogen application is vital to stimulate lateral branching and biomass development.
• Flowering Phase: Protection against alternaria and pests (such as the pollen beetle) is crucial to maintain pod integrity, leveraging the hybrid's natural resistance to shattering.

The high adaptive potential of LID CALIENTO makes it a reliable choice for farms focused on intensive cultivation and high-quality oilseed production.
