Rapeseed DESIGNER

Stress Adaptability: A Focus on Stability

The winter oilseed rape hybrid "Designer" from Limagrain Europe, registered in Ukraine in 2026, was engineered as a tool to mitigate risks in volatile climatic conditions. The breeding focus is primarily on physiological endurance during critical growth stages.

Field Performance and Resilience

• Drought and Heat Tolerance: The hybrid demonstrates high tolerance to moisture deficits during the autumn period, ensuring uniform emergence and robust root system development before winter dormancy. In spring, "Designer" efficiently utilizes stored moisture, maintaining turgor even during sharp temperature fluctuations.
• Stem Strength: Genetically inherent resistance to lodging allows the hybrid to maintain an upright position even during excessive rainfall during the ripening phase, which is critical for preventing harvesting losses.
• Phytosanitary Profile: Limagrain's breeding program traditionally emphasizes comprehensive pathogen protection. "Designer" exhibits strong resistance to phoma and verticillium, allowing for a reduction in the fungicide load on crops.

Regional Suitability

Due to its high plasticity, the hybrid optimally realizes its potential in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. It is adapted to various soil types, though it performs best under intensive cultivation technologies, where it can fully express its high genetic yield potential.
