Rapeseed Cromputer

German breeding for extreme conditions

The Kromputer hybrid from Deutsche Saatveredelung AG is the German breeders' response to the challenges of climate change. Registered in Ukraine in 2026, this F1 rapeseed hybrid is designed for farmers operating in zones with a high risk of summer drought and unstable temperature regimes.

Field performance: stress tolerance

The key feature of Kromputer is its ability to maintain productivity under moisture deficit. The hybrid's genetic potential allows it to efficiently utilize early spring water reserves, minimizing the impact of June heat. In field conditions, the hybrid demonstrates:

• High lodging resistance: a strong stem withstands heavy rainfall and strong winds, which is critical for preserving the crop before harvest.
• Temperature stability: the plant adapts quickly to sharp cold snaps after an early start to the growing season.
• Phytosanitary control: DSV's breeding focus on reducing susceptibility to phoma and verticillium allows for a reduction in fungicide applications without sacrificing grain quality.

Cultivation recommendations

Due to its plasticity, the hybrid shows stable results both in intensive farming systems and with moderate fertilizer application. Kromputer is optimally suited for regions with a pronounced continental climate, where the crop's ability to "escape" peak temperatures before the seed-filling phase is critical.
