Technological Potential of DK Exagris

The 2025 French breeding release by Monsanto Technology LLC, DK Exagris, is engineered for intensive rapeseed production. This F1 hybrid is characterized by rapid early-stage development, which is essential for establishing a robust root system before the onset of winter dormancy.

Agronomic Guidelines

• Sowing Dates: The optimal window is between August 10th and 25th. Early sowing allows the plant to accumulate sufficient sugars in the root collar, directly impacting winter hardiness.
• Planting Density: The recommended seeding rate is 450,000–500,000 viable seeds per hectare. With a row spacing of 15–30 cm, the hybrid effectively utilizes the nutritional area to form a uniform stand.
• Soil Requirements: The best results are achieved on well-structured chernozems and gray forest soils with a pH of 6.0–7.0. Avoid soil compaction, as the hybrid is sensitive to waterlogging during early development phases.

Crop Management by Growth Stage

During the autumn period, the primary objective is to control rosette growth. If the crop tends to overgrow (more than 8 leaves), the application of fungicide-retardants is recommended. In the spring, during the stem elongation phase, it is critical to apply nitrogen fertilizers in two stages: first, on frozen soil, and second, before the budding phase. DK Exagris shows high responsiveness to micronutrient application, particularly boron, which should be applied at the 4–6 leaf stage and again before flowering to prevent pod shattering and improve pollination.
