Technical Profile of «Krasochka» Early-Maturing Radish

The breeding development of the Kyiv State Agricultural Experimental Station of the UAAS is an example of adaptive vegetable farming focused on the climatic realities of Ukraine. The hybrid is built on a precise balance between vegetation speed and the physiological resistance of the root vegetable to cracking.

Vegetation Parameters and Biological Cycle

The key advantage of this variety is its short maturation cycle, lasting 20–25 days from germination. Using «Krasochka» allows for efficient performance in two cycles: spring (early sowing, when daylight hours have not yet reached critical length) and autumn (second rotation). The cycle stability during these periods is driven by low sensitivity to temperature fluctuations, which are typical for the off-season.

Root Morphology

• Mass and Calibration: The average fruit weight varies in the range of 25–30 grams, which is the optimal market standard for bunch production.
• Geometry: The round shape ensures convenience during both mechanical and manual packaging, minimizing voids in the containers.
• Visual Characteristics: The bright red epidermis possesses a high degree of gloss, which is critical for shelf appeal in retail environments.

The originator's engineering approach to creating this variety allowed for the mitigation of tendencies toward premature bolting, a common challenge in early-maturing radish cultivation. The dense structure of the root vegetable ensures the long-term retention of turgor after harvest, enabling crop transportation without loss of quality.
